Jeff Switzer is a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1991 with a B.S. in speech communication.  He married Cindy Bass and attended Asbury Theological Seminary receiving a Master’s of Divinity in 1995.  Rev. Switzer received his Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary in 2006, with emphases in biblical studies and pulpit communication.  Jeff and Cindy have three children – Hannah, Timothy, and Jonathan.

Kaitlin joins us from Hattiesburg, Mississippi where she completed a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting. She married her husband Dakota Brown in 2018. Kaitlin graduated from Ocean Springs High School and is a coast native. She was raised in the ministry and served with her family in music ministry for the majority of her life before joining Trinity’s team.

Preschool Director

Karen Hatten currently serves as the Director of Trinity Preschool and Mother’s Morning Out (MMO). She joined the Trinity UMC staff in 2007 as the MMO Director, before transitioning into her current role in 2015. Karen has a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Desha has served as the church secretary at Trinity since 2004. She was born and raised in the Gulfport area and loves cooking, camping and spending time with her family. Desha loves calling the people here at Trinity her family!

Regina is a life-long resident of Gulfport and a graduate of Mississippi State University. She and her husband, Brandon are the parents of Timothy and Lucy. She has been on staff at Trinity since Hurricane Katrina, and also enjoys spending time with her family either at soccer, football or softball!

Youth Director

Claire Switzer is a life-long resident of Gulfport, Mississippi. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2022 with a degree in Education. Claire was an active participant in Trinity's youth program throughout her middle and high school years. Since graduating college, God led her to begin her time in youth ministry here at Trinity. Claire is eager to watch where the Lord will lead her throughout her time here.

Since receiving her degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1990, Cindy has taught preschool through sixth grade.  She has worked alongside her husband, Jeff Switzer, in ministry since they were married in 1991. She loves spending time with her family and traveling.

Church Treasurer

Paula and her husband, Taylor, moved from West Tennessee and have lived in Ocean Springs since September 2016. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Accounting/Business Administration. Paula has served as the Accountant/Treasurer at Trinity since April 2021. She and her husband attend Mosaic in Ocean Springs, but she loves her work/church family at Trinity.
